Touring St. George

This morning we toured Brigham Young's summer home. Brigham Young discovered that the weather in St. George was very good for his arthritis, so he bought a home here and spent the last 8 winters of his life here. It was fun to see his home and hear the history of St. George. The Sister Missionary who took us on the tour is going home in two weeks. While she was guiding us on the tour, a couple who she had taught a year ago, came to say hello to her. They had just come from the temple where they had been sealed.

After seeing Brigham Young's home, we went over to the St. George Temple and Visitor's Center. We had fun watching a bunch of Mormon TV commercials and visiting with the missionaries. It's funny how much emotion are packed into those short commercials. It was hard not to get choked up watching some of those 30 second spots.

For lunch we went to the Pizza Factory. Everyone ordered individual pizzas and we ordered plain bread twists with cinnamon dipping sauce. Bill Randall the owner and cousin introduced Natalie and I to it last year. We've been referring to it as a little bowl of heaven. When we were about through with dinner, Bill came over and brought us Cinnamon sugar bread sticks and cream sauce. He told us that that is what they serve in heaven. It truly was heavenly. We all loved it.

After lunch, we went shopping for about an hour at the outlet malls before dropping off Natalie, Ashley, and Brenda at the Young Womens Conference. They really enjoyed hearing from Elder Uchdorf and the General Young Women's Presidency. While they were at the conference, Jamison, Emily and Jamison went swimming at the Hotel.

Following the conference, Brenda decided to be extremely brave and go clothes shopping. She found several stunning outfits at Coldwater Creek, and saved a ton of money ($217.76), because the dresses where all on sale.

We've had a great day here in St. George.
